Craig A. Jacobs
Born in Bath, New York just 15 short miles from Corning, New York, which is home of the Corning Glass Works, and Steuben Glass.
Graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters Degree and has since spent the last 30 years living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
I became interested in working with warm glass techniques and media after attending a series of classes at Bullseye Glass in Portland Oregon.
Primarily self taught I enjoy reading about other warm glass artists and sharing ideas and techniques with those that are willing to share.
Having lived in the natural surroundings of the Olympic Peninsula in the State of Washington much of my glass work is influenced by nature: sword ferns, sea life, and the rain forest environment.
I have experimented with copper inclusions, pot melts, various shapes, multiple layers, powders, and some draping of larger vases.
My work would be considered “Useable Fusable Glass” so I encourage those that purchase a piece to use it. However, I do have some fun pieces that would be happy just sitting on a display shelf .
